Scripture Used in December 14 Sermon

And the Lord was also angry with me because of you. He said to me, 'Moses, not even you will enter the Promised Land!'(Dt 1:37, NLT) I feared that the furious anger of the Lord, which turned him against you, would drive him to destroy you. But again he listened to me. The Lord was so angry with Aaron that he wanted to destroy him, too. But I prayed for Aaron, and the Lord spared him.(Dt 9:19-20, NLT) The Lord was very angry with Solomon, for his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.(1 Ki 11:9, NLT) Because the Lord was very angry with Israel, he swept them away from his presence. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”(Jn 3:36, NLT) But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.(Ro 1:18, NLT) All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.(Eph 2:3, NLT) So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming.(Col 3:5-6, NLT) For the wages of sin is death.(Ro 6:23, NLT) [F]or he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.(Ro 3:26, NLT) And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.(Ro 5:9, NLT) Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father!(Jn 14:9, NLT) He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.(1 Jn 2:2, NLT) For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever.(1 Th 5:9-10, NLT) This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.(1 Jn 4:10, NLT)The sermon was the first in a short series: Big Words.
