Proud of the LifePointe People

Over the past six months, God has really been doing a work at LifePointe Church. And in the last month, since January 2010, we have consistently had higher and higher attendance. Which is a great thing to happen!
Our teams have been great through this growth spurt! Every single person is pitching in, serving where needed, More >

I Gave

A couple of Sundays ago at LifePointe, we gave all our offering from the previous week back to our people. We placed $10 bills in envelopes and gave every person in our worship service one. There were only two rules: Give the money to someone who desperately needs it and let everyone know the story.

Review of Where Is God by Dr. John Townsend

It’s a question that comes up often:

When your doctor gives you a report that’s not favorable.
When a loved one suddenly dies.
When your spouse decided he no longer wants to be married.
When disasters that destroy many lives occur.

And that question is “Where is God?”
Where is God is also the title of the latest great book by More >

Another Big Sunday

The Sundays just keep getting better and better. Full house again with more new families and faces. The band was phenomenal. A few minor hiccups (Welcome Time: handled like (semi)pros!, and total confusion with the sermon graphics: my bad). Overall though, we had another spirit-filled, high energy time. We’re running low on chairs and may More >

It’s Almost Sunday!

The last few months at LifePointe have been phenomenal, especially our worship services. And we’re expecting another fantastic worship service tomorrow. The band is fired up and our teams are ready to serve. If you haven’t attended a LifePointe Church worship service yet then tomorrow would be a great day to come. You’ll be there More >

The Sum of Your Life

I just returned yesterday from a quick 24 hour, 600 mile trip to my former church. I went there to be part of the funeral of one of the pillars of that church. The occasion was sad but also an opportunity to think back and reflect on a life well lived.
As I prepared my message, More >

Delayed Sunday Recap

I’ve been on the road for the last couple of days with limited internet access. So I’m just now getting to recapping what was a major day Sunday at LifePointe.
My first reaction is to the crowd. WOW! We were packed to the gills. I think we had two of our worship center chairs available after More >

“Do It Anyway” by Mother Teresa

I read this over at Marty Duren’s blog. I liked it so much I borrowed it from him.
The poem is by Mother Teresa. Read it and let me know what you think.

People are often unreasonable, illogical,
and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you
of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, More >

A “Can’t Miss” Sunday

I am about to bust for tomorrow to come! We’re going to do something we’ve never done before. It’s going to be so exciting. And it’s not going to be cheesy, self-promoting, or sensational. It’s going to be God-honoring in every way. Doing things the way Jesus does them! Don’t miss it. 10:30 am.
And just More >

A Facebook User’s Primer to Twitter Statuses

One of the great uses of Facebook, Twitter, and other social network sites is the ability to share real-time information. From a Christian perspective, the social networking sites provide a means of, among other things, sharing prayer needs very quickly.
Many of these sites provide integration with the each other. Two of those are Twitter and More >

Upcoming Conference

I’ve been so busy the last few months that I had completely forgotten the ChurchPlanters.com conference coming up February 22-23, in Atlanta.
There are so many conferences now and you can spend thousands of dollars and travel every week to attend them all. They all offer great stuff but for most church planters and pastors, both More >

Big Sunday!

Just a great day today!
My day started about 5:30 am this morning. I got up and drove to Cason Baptist Church, a few miles north of Amory, for a Brotherhood, a gathering of men. I was there to hear our own JW Posey share with those men how Jesus came into his life. JW did More >
