Our God is a creative God. He spoke the universe into existence (Genesis 1) and actually carries the ultimate title of Creator (Romans 1:25). One of the ways we enjoy imaging him is also through being creative in our life and work.

On the Verge: is a new book co-authored by Alan Hirsch and Dave Ferguson. It’s a very good and thought-provoking book, exploring the idea of churches transitioning to a more missional approach. Dallas Willard on Grace and Discipline

One of my print “mentors” has been Dallas Willard. His book The Divine Conspiracy, in my opinion, should be required reading for every Christian. The first time I read that book, I was shaken to my Christian core. Light bulbs went off, fireworks exploded, etc. That’s how important that book was to me. I’ve read it at least three times and I intend to read it again.

Mike Breen recently posted on his blog a video interview of Dallas Willard. The video is from the Catalyst West 2010 Conference. John Ortberg leads the interview, asking Dallas Willard about the inter-relationship of grace and discipline. It’s very good. Take a look. Leave any comments you might have after you watch.

Catalyst Interview with Eugene Peterson

Catalyst has posted a video interview of Eugene Peterson, who brought us The Message: The Bible in Contemporary Language. While The Message might be his better known work, he has also written many books geared toward pastors. He has a passion for pastors, as you can see in this video.

The video was recorded during the 2011 Catalyst West event, as Rick McKinley asked the questions. It’s 30 minutes long, so find the time and listen to Bro. Peterson. It’s worth your time.

How Important is the Bible to You?

As I sit here in my office and look at my bookshelves, I count 22 copies of the Bible in various translations and languages. I love the Word of God. But I probably sometimes take my access to the Bible for granted. Not these people in the following video. This is a MUST WATCH!

Wow, right? What’s your reaction to the joy you see in the Kimyal people as they get the New Testament in their language for the first time?
