The Church Mag site has a fantastic little article entitled “10 Easy Steps to Ruin Your Online Reputation.” Sometimes I can’t believe what people share on Facebook or Twitter. They just don’t realize how they’re shaping people’s opinions of themselves by what they are sharing. I hope this article helps people understand this a little bit better.

Here’s a fascinating infographic depicting the mass obsession with Facebook. One of the interesting numbers: 71% of the ENTIRE POPULATION of the US is on Facebook. At what point in history has the church had instant access to almost 3/4 of the country’s population? You really need to be on and using Facebook.

A Note on Worship

It’s already been an unusual winter here in Mississippi. We had the first white Christmas in decades and there’s been flurries since. And now, the prediction is for us to get four to eight inches Sunday and Monday! Wow. Right now it’s 60 degrees. The old saying holds true: You don’t like the weather in Mississippi – wait a few hours and it will change! The only sure prediction is unpredictability.

Sometimes it seems that God is the same way, especially in our church services. We seem to never know when God might show up. But, really, God is always here. It’s just that we’re not always looking for Him. We may be looking for good music or a good message, but we may not be necessarily looking for Him, a real encounter with the Living God. When we really look for Him, when we WORSHIP Him, God’s proximity becomes evident.

So, this Sunday, I encourage you to WORSHIP Him. Don’t get caught up in the music or the message. Get caught up in Him!
