You’ve reached the personal blog of Rob Westbrook, the church planter and pastor of LifePointe Church, a church located in Amory, Mississippi.
Rob is a native of Monroe County, Mississippi, where he attended Becker Elementary School and graduated from Hatley High School in 1983. After a brief stint as a basketball player at Itawamba Junior College, he later completed the degree program in Electronics Technology at IJC in 1986. His first employer out of college was Memorex Telex as a Field Engineer. In 1990 he begin working as a Maintenance Technician for Cooper Tire in Tupelo, MS.
On June 5, 1995, as a 30 year old, Rob became a follower of Jesus Christ and by 1997 he was preaching in various churches in the Monroe County area. In the fall of 1997 Rob and Teresa sold their new house and during the first week of January 1998 moved to New Orleans, Louisiana to attend New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Rob became pastor of his first church in April 1999 and received his Bachelor’s Degree in December 1999. He continued his education and has completed 46 hours toward a Master’s Degree of Divinity.
In the fall of 2006 Rob, his wife, Teresa, and his high school daughter, Lauren, returned to Amory, Mississippi, where God impressed on them the need for a new church in the area. Since that time, LifePointe Church has launched and God is working through it to see lives changed and the community transformed.
