The Internet 10 Years Later

September 22, 2012, by Rob, category blog

I first accessed the internet back in 1993 or 1994, I think. A local school gave the public access and, being a computer geek, I jumped at the chance. I fired up my 28.8k modem and checked out the next big thing. The internet was all text-based. No web browser, no video, just letters typing across the screen. You could do email, ftp and gopher. When Mosaic (look it up) came out, us nerds rejoiced.

The folks over at bestedsites.com recently posted an infographic. It doesn’t go back to the roots of the internet, but it does refect the revolutionary changes we’ve seen just in the last 10 years. Take a look below.

THE INTERNET A DECADE LATER BY BESTEDSITES.COM IS LICENSED UNDER A CREATIVE COMMONS ATTRIBUTION-NONCOMMERCIAL-NODERIVS 3.0 UNPORTED LICENSE.

Thanks makeuseof.com for the link.

So, what do you think ?
