I first accessed the internet back in 1993 or 1994, I think. A local school gave the public access and, being a computer geek, I jumped at the chance. I fired up my 28.8k modem and checked out the next big thing. The internet was all text-based. No web browser, no video, just letters typing across the screen. You could do email, ftp and gopher. When Mosaic (look it up) came out, us nerds rejoiced.
