Sunday was a good day at LifePointe, although I think there might have been a bit of a letdown after Easter’s huge weekend. The crowd was smaller than last week but still pretty good. One thing that stood out this morning was the large amount of young people. They’re everywhere! A testimony to the great kids ministry LifePointe has.
The band, as usual, was superb. Our last song was “Forgive Me,” an original song from our worship leader, Bob Ludwig. Very good and moving song. Our band is full of talent.
Today was the first day of our new series “American Idols.” We taking a hard look at some of the potential idols of our American culture. For some reason, preparing for the message today was a fight. I don’t know if that was because of my own distractions or because of the spiritual warfare surrounding the subject today: money. Whatever the reason, it carried over to the delivery this morning. Pretty tense time.
I’m preparing now for our Prayer and Share Small Groups tonight. I always look forward to our small group time and seeing our guys and gals build real Christian community. There’s some good things happening in those groups.
