Resolved: Read the Bible in a Year

January 1, 2010, by Rob, category blog

In the past, I’ve read through the Bible in a year. The last couple of years, I’ve fell behind. I’m resolving to do it again this year. Actually, I’ve gotten a head start. I bought the God Sightings: One Year Bible (NLT) two or three weeks ago and jumped in on the date I bought it. I’ve read through some of the Minor Prophets, the last of the Psalms, Revelation, and a bit from Proverbs. With the One Year Bible I have, each day’s reading in grouped together by date. You read a portion of the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs. Tonight I’ll jump to the beginning. This Bible is a bargain at less than $10.

If you would like an online plan for reading through the Bible, check out YouVersion. YouVersion is a great online Bible resource. This year, they’ve added reading plans for reading through the Bible. They have over 20 different plans available and you can track your reading online. If you’ve got an iPhone, Blackberry, Android, or any internet connected phone, you can sync up and read on your desktop, laptop, or phone. Narrows down your excuses!

For me, there’s nothing more rewarding than reading through the Bible. No matter how many times you read through it, there’s always new nuggets of God’s truth to unearth. You wonder how you’ve missed it before. If you’re looking for a New Year’s Resolution than will affect your life on a daily basis, resolve with me to read through your Bible in 2010.

So, what do you think ?
