I hope all of you are enjoying a nice Thanksgiving holiday. We’ve had a good one here at the Westbrook household. I didn’t eat too much. I’d say it was all about right. Now I’m looking forward to Sunday and anticipating another big day of worship at LifePointe Church.
We’re concluding the Urban Legends series this weekend. This series has been, in my opinion, the most successful series in our history. We’ve held some common spiritual myths up against the light of the Bible and found truth. God has worked in the last month, really the last three months, in revealing truth and we’re seeing the result in changed lives. We’ve seen people begin new life walking with Jesus Christ, baptized and identified with Him. Another man has been licensed to preach the Gospel, beginning his adventure of following God’s call on his life. Many others have made decisions that will bring positive change to their lives and the lives of their family. Momentum has increased through the Urban Legend series, and I’m excited about the future.
The future includes our new December series:
“Xmas: What’s Missing in Your Christmas?” will be our December series. With everything that surrounds Christmas, could it be we’re missing some of the more important elements of Christmas? We’re going to tackle that question every Sunday in December. You will want to be here in December. There may be a surprise or two in December as well.
We’re already planning for January and February 2010 (that feels funny, typing 2010). Look out for big things to come. Including our second anniversary. It’s hard to believe its already been almost two years since God starting a new thing here in Amory!
So, the future looks bright at LifePointe Church. And the future begins tomorrow! Don’t miss it.
Oh, and there was this little game played Saturday in Starkville, Mississippi. I really don’t follow that stuff too much but I did notice the school of Mississippi State University defeated the University of Mississippi in a college football game. More cowbell!
