Last Sunday was a busy day for us. Our Youth Pastor, Michael Welch, delivered the message for Parenthood, week 3. A unique worship service for me, being at LifePointe and not preaching. Michael did a good job and I got to enjoy the service and worship.
Our monthly Lunch@LifePointe followed the service. Almost every third Sunday we eat lunch together. Everyone looks forward to the lunch and time together. For October, our KidzPointe (grades 1-4) and TweenPointe (grades 5-6) provided lots and lots of soup. I heard it was all good but most was gone by the time I got to it! Donations were accepted for the soup, going toward our kids summer camps.
After the lunch (yep, busy day) we had our New Member’s Class. Ten people went through our class and all ten are now members of LifePointe Church! Great people who have a huge heart and share our vision. Many have already been serving. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do through these guys.
Our Prayer and Share stepped it up another level Sunday night. I can’t stress enough how much you need to be a part of Prayer and Share on Sunday nights. It’s become a true small group experience.
This Sunday marks the end of our Parenthood series. I’ve loved this series. I will say, it has been intense, convicting, and real. We’re going to close it out with a bang.
And that brings us to our next series: Urban Legends. We’ll kick it off Sunday, November 1. There are so many legends floating around the circles of Christianity. We’ll look at some of them and compare them with what the Bible actually says. We’re doing our own video for this series. Have you seen our promo? Strange stuff.
I’ve pretty much settled on our Christmas series, too. The title may raise a few eyebrows but will get to the heart of Christmas. Stayed tuned!
Here’s the video from last Sunday’s service. Take a look. If you’re in the Amory area come and join us live this Sunday, 10:30 am. You’ll be glad you did.
