Doing What It Takes

When I was a pastor down in south Mississippi, I met an area pastor, Eddie Painter, down there that became a good friend of mine. We shared similar stories within the ministry, one of which we both grew up or lived in Amory, Mississippi. He and I would talk, complain, dream, and pray with each other. The dude loved fishing, mostly from a kayak.

Since those times both he and I have moved on to other areas to minister. I went north – he went south, to the Louisiana coast. He’s weathered hurricanes and culture change. Recently, there was a story written about him that ended up being picked up by Baptist Press, the reporting and news arm of the Southern Baptist Convention.
