LifePointe, the church
1 Comment Heart Breaking and Heart Warming
This little excerpt comes from a post Recap of Last Week I made on June 25.
Monday lasted a week. One of our new Christians lost a brother to suicide Monday. 21 years old. Had a 1 year old child. He’d been to a few of our services, even asking off from work to attend one time. This kills me. Did he feel and hear hope? Did we miss it? Was we the last chance and we blew it? I can’t shake it. It hurts. It should hurt.
Wednesday afternoon, I received a tearful phone call from the sister of this guy. Seems her dad was cleaning up some of the brother’s belongings when he ran across a LifePointe Connection Card. These are the cards we ask our guests to fill out so we’ll have there information. This young man had completed the card, but took it home with him instead of leaving it with us. The significance of this card is that this young man had checked a little box on the card – the one that reads “Today I received Jesus Christ as My Savior.” Wow! He DID find some hope. We did get something right and Jesus Christ got Billy. Our hearts still hurt but we’re looking forward to seeing him again.
OH WOW!!!! how awesome is that. Gave me chills. God is so good. Hopefully this will bring more of a peace to his family. I know it will still be hard, but what an awesome thing to know for certain that they will see him again in Heaven!
