LifePointe, mind dump
No Comments Another WOW Sunday!
Our service at LifePointe was fantastic. I really think God just consumed every particle of air in the room and filled it with Himself. It was an awesome morning.
For me it was a real change of pace. I’m usually up in the sound booth during the worship, thinking too much and watching too much and roaming around too much. With my foot and the crutches, I had to find some way to easily get to the stage to speak. I settled on sitting on the front row and taking a couple of crutch steps to the front of the stage. I sat on the stage with my feet on the floor. Someone sat a stand down for my Bible and I was set.
The change of pace was sitting. I sat there from 9:30 until the service started. People filed in and the worship center filled. There was this air of expectation. At 10:30 the band took the stage and led us into worship. I couldn’t roam around, I couldn’t occupy my mind with little details. All I could do was just sit there. And worship. For maybe the first time at LifePointe, I was able to worship and just shut my eyes and praise and hear from God. When the band did “Mighty to Save” I thought I was going to float off and was ready to go! I don’t think there’s ever been a preacher more ready to get up and speak God’s Word than I was this morning.
The sermon was excellent. I’m not talking about my ability, charm or delivery (or lack thereof). I mean in being on target and getting it right from God. I knew there were people God had there that needed a word from Him. And they did. For a preacher to hear that God spoke through him is the epitomy of everything. That’s what God called me to do: preach the Word. We got it right today.
Our nursery is busting at the seams. KidzPointe is busting at the seams. Our air conditioners are busting all over. I was sweating like I’d been through two-a-day football practices. I had a t-shirt on under my outside shirt and the t-shirt was soaked. Hope that’s fixed soon.
Final count from check-in: 125 in attendance.
I’m on the bed for another week. Trying not to waste the time, though. Planning and working on new sermon series, strategitizing, visioneering, and idealizing. All new leadership words I’ve created (or read somewhere).
