I felt much better going into the service this Sunday. The band was a little short this Sunday, with Bob and Dalton out but the rest really did a good job. Very good, very tight, very moving. They did a song “Put in Me” that just gets me every time. Great lyrics and music. I continued my HOSTAGE series with the topic of Discouragement, coming from Psalm 42. The psalm and message definitely connected with me and I think with the church. There was a very touching part at the end of the service, with our KidzPointe children coming into the worship center, grabbing their fathers, and coming to the front of the stage to pray with them. I think I saw some tears. Attendance holding steady, despite many regulars out for various reasons. According to our check in, we had 95, but I saw a few who missed the check in.
Lots going on the last half of June. Wednesday night we’re hosting the Area Youth Rally. Last month, at another local church, there were 130 students at the rally, so we’re expecting at least that many. Our band is playing, minus Trey who’s working out of town, and plus Rob Savilla, our go-to guy for worship when we need help. Rob is always there to help us, since the pre-launch days. Frank Vaughn, youth pastor at Parkway in Houston, and the leader of The Pointe, our Tuesday night Student Ministry, will be speaking. I’m looking forward to this and expecting big things.
LifePointe’s Party in the Parking Lot is Saturday, June 28. This thing is mushrooming into a big time community outreach event. We’re preparing for 1,000 people. The crew behind the party is going all out and I’m blown away by their work. Good job, guys.
We’ve got a special surprise for the June 29th morning service. And we’re doing a 5th Sunday thing with Grace Fellowship and possibly other area churches.
Good stuff on the way. God is good!
