Monday Morning Mind Dump

January 14, 2008, by Rob, category blog

Yesterday’s service was awesome. Here’s my thoughts:

  • Attendance was pretty steady from Launch Sunday last week. The final count was 130, down 14 from the 144 on Launch Day. Taking into account the 15-20 out-of-town guests we had last week just for the Launch, we actually held our own. That’s great!
  • I saw quite a few new faces. Thanks for coming.
  • The band was great. They’re tightening up really well, even with a new bass player. We’ve got two band members who are young teens and they don’t miss a beat (literally).
  • Trey shared a Bible passage and his heart as he led into the final song. It was very moving and right on time. Trey is one great worship leader.
  • Our nursery and kids leaders are knocking it out of the park! I think we had over 30 in the birth to 12 year old range and everyone of them were pumped when they left.
  • The carpet looks really good. We’re really close to having the building finished. And that’s a good thing. I’m ready to move past the building. It’s been necessary, it looks good, but now I’m looking forward to more of the ministry aspects of LifePointe.
  • We’ve got to figure out our baptism process. We’ve got at least 2 people ready to be baptized. We may go portable, as in a cattle water trough. I’ll be talking about that with Northstar Church in Tupelo. They have multiple cattle trough experience!
  • I know cars and trucks are not material beings, but I think mine are spiritually influenced. All three have problems. Might be time for an exorcism!
  • I can’t say enough about our LifePointe Team. Everyone is stepping up and serving. Some are filling multiple roles. I’ve probably said it before but it is truly amazing how God brought us all together. LifePointe, you rock.
  • If you’re new to LifePointe and want to help out, come on! Find someone who’s serving, tap them on the shoulder, and ask them how you can help. They’ll get you pointed in the right direction.
  • I found out this blog is widely read throughout the state. We’ll, maybe not widely, but I know that at least 2 people read it: me and Ms. Mary Welch. Hey, Ms. Mary!

Fabulous report! Exciting, isn’t it? A couple from Amory were down visiting with us yesterday. They are looking for a church that will engage the world – and I told them about Lifepointe. They were not aware of you – but were excited to find out about you guys. Email me – I will share the names with you.
