For me! Since March I have been employed by LifeWay Christian Stores in Tupelo, Mississippi. I really enjoy working there. As a preacher, I love books, so what could be better than working in a Christian bookstore? The feelings I have about that must be something close to the feelings women have when they walk into Belks, Old Navy, or something. You know, you just kind of have an outer body experience or something.
Well, that’a all about to change. In a couple of weeks I will leave LifeWay for a more challenging place of employment. My new job will be at Sam Stevens Motors. And yes, I will be selling cars! I’ve never done that before but I’ve never been afraid to try something new. Oh, and if you’re in the market for a new Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep, hang on a couple of weeks more than come see me at Sam Stevens.
Before you laugh, want you to know this is an answered prayer. In a previous blog post I wrote about my new prayer journal. One of the entries in my journal reads something like this: Lord I pray that you will provide me a place to work in Amory where I can be with the people I am trying to reach. I think it was like four days later when the discussion began, out of the blue, for me to start at Sam Stevens. I really didn’t have to pray a lot about taking it, because I already had! God answers another prayer.
Even though I’ll be working, I’m looking forward to being in Amory, talking with and sharing time with the people who will one day make up LifePointe Church.
This job is not my final stop. This doesn’t spell the end of LifePointe but a continuation. I’m still looking at getting the show on the road this fall or early winter. LifePointe will happen, on God time. He’s pulling us, and others we’re not even aware of,closer and closer to that day when a new church springs up in Amory, full of the Spirit, conquering the territory of the enemy. You guys hang in there with me. Stay in contact with me. Give me a call. Let me know what’s happening with you
